1) Everyone should've known EXTREME wasn't the last. Konami of Japan would of officially announced it just like they did with Beatmania 5-Key, Guitar Freaks, and Dancemaniax. KOJ has no reason to close the DDR section of Bemani, it has a huge fanbase in America now, and it has already come all the way to its 8th version.
2) Just because KOA closed its arcade division doesn't mean that the company it sold it to can't create another DDR. Or even better no reason why KOJ can't release a new DDR in America.
3) If this is true, even though it's not official news or anything, this is good news. The more DDR that comes out, the better possibility of a new DDR US Arcade Mix, more home mixes, and more Bemani in the US. _________________

I think they should make two more mixes. The first one would be just another mix.(new songs etc.) The second one would only be for the last mix. They should put every ddr song on one mix, even though that's pretty big, then they should put it out in stores. Sure, it might cost more then another game, but I'd buy it in a heartbeat. _________________

9th mix should have only have about 270 songs, and should run off a DVD-ROM disc instead of a CD-ROM. Here's why:
rageandemi's review of DDR Extreme on GameFAQs wrote: | SOUND
This is where DDR Extreme just falls flat on it's face. 2/3 of the problem is blamed on the game's inferior sound.
MUSIC-
DDR Extreme has just over 230 songs. About say 170 of them are re-appearing songs from past mixes. Just about every arcade mix is represented on this one which fits the anniversary theme. There are brand spanking new songs like 1998, Dance Dance Revolution, I do I do I do, Cartoon Heroes, bag, etc. Also the majority of the new to DDR songs are imports from other Bemani games. A huge mistake on Konami's part. Songs like Sakura, V, L'amour et liberite', A, Daikenkai, Across the nightmare, make a complete mockery of DDR. These songs come from other Bemani games and they are some of the most undanceable tracks in DDR history. Dance Dance Revolution is all about dancing to great dance music. Lately Konami has lost it's sense and just import the most undanceable songs. Please do not listen to your fans like that Konami. This is just shamefull. The amount of Japanese songs is also present, these songs I just can't stand. I see no musical value whatsover listening to songs like Love Love Shine, Love 2 Sugar. They really annoy my ears and which makes me miss the days when DDR just had great dance music from Toshiba EMI (Dancemania). So what new songs are actualy good. Well here they are.

The last 1/3 of DDR Extreme's huge flaws is the sound quality. No matter what condition your arcade's speakers are this is the worst DDR mix for sound quality. Going back to the CD ROM issue, Konami stuffed 200 plus songs on a single CD ROM. All the songs run at 112kbps which is piss poor sound quality. Konami, please don't do this again. DVD ROM is the best move you can make. |

((JUst to start off the post positively: The Artist Z?... OH MAN if CSFIL super euro gets in the new mix**IF THERE IS ONE** I would <3 it sooo badly))
Anyways... hmm.. about 9th Mix: For all those who doubted DDR would return, shame. I figure this Namco manager is correct, possibly because I'm too trusting :X
But that aside, don't start posting this rumours (release dates, mix names etc.) because you all know where rumour threads land us.

I personally believe there will be a 9th mix, and unless that complete bombs, they'll at least take it to 10th mix before they stop.
Nonetheless I think Konami might have originally planned to make EXTREME the end of the road. I dunno, I think having the game's title track Dance Dance Revolution just kinda gave it that feel. Meh, just food for thought. _________________

I don't doubt that Konami would make another mix. I would be sort of disappointed, however, if they don't revolutionize it like the Beatmania->IIDX jump... DDR *was* the most popular of the Bemani genre and Konami gives it the least attention (all the good FMV from Extreme are ripped off from other Bemani games). Even without new arrows, better speakers and DVD quality videos would be much appreciated.
But I seriously doubt that KOJ would release something "for America". I'm sure licensing and international copyright issues will get in the way somehow. The most you can expect is that they'd pick more songs that caters to American taste (according to them anyway, i.e. La Copa De La Vida and We Will Rock You) _________________

First of all, to the person complaining about some songs from other Bemani games being undancable, you are about to hear my words of wisdom in freestyling. All songs are dancable, you just have to find a way to make it dancable. Besides, I see nothing wrong with most of the songs they put in from other Bemani games.
I predict that the next mix of DDR should come out in early December of this year. _________________

i think konami should make a new verison of ddr hardware wise, yes bring in the sixpannel on both sides, Yes bring in teh DVD drive, and konami for hte love of god dont releice just 1000 copys of the official upgrade kit, it will bring you to suffering with bootlegging. _________________

I really do hope this comes out...I mean If this does...then they wil probably stop at 10th mix. The reason why i say that is because 9 is an od numberto stop at...but I hope the song ln it are evern better than Extreme (BTW Extreme has a really good song list) _________________

I'd hate to be the one to poop on everyones party but....
It is my humble opinion that DDR Extreme seems so..."Final" so to speak.
Think about it...
A song CALLED "Dance Dance Revolution" as the FINAL HIDDEN Stage in which THE CHALLENGE STEPS ARE COMPILED STEPCHART SECTIONS OF DDR CLASSICS. Also, The LEGEND of Max.
246 songs from EVERY MIX CONCIEVABLE...(C'mon...Club Version...I never heard of it until DDR Extreme...Wasn't that a Dreamcast only mix or something....Correct me if I'm wrong....)
LEGEND oni, Featuring the hardest steps in existance.
Everything about it seems like it's the last mix that will ever be made...Maybe it's just me thinking too much.
The only thing keeping me in high hopes is the simple fact that there was no official announcement yet....
Here's hoping.... _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]
