Ok, the question at hand is "What is wrong with the DDR youth?"

Here's my answer. Although there are always exceptions, in general, they are fuggin' rude. If they're not doing something stupid like trying to take your spot in line, they're standing behind you saying crap like, "I am so much better than this guy," or other comments about how good they are compared to you. To the rude people that stand behind others and talk about how good they are comparatively, take note: NO ONE F--KING CARES! Then, just to add insult to injury, these rude people will then get up and either do much worse than they claim, or they will rape the living hell out of the bar and act like they're cool.

Just to make matters worse, they make posts like

These same people then wonder why others on forums and the like hate them. English is a wonderful language capable of expressing any emotion or thought. It's a shame that so few people have even a working knowledge of it. If one is trying to defend their intelligence and maturity, then he should make all efforts to sound intelligent and mature.

After all, it's about common courtesy, which is something that the "DDR Youth" generally (note the usage of "generally") seems to lack.

Yes, it's true that I see lots of kids with little working or applicable knowledge of the English language, and one of my biggest pet peeves is seeing a person main the living crap outta an entire paragraph because they like "writing how they speak" or are "too lazy too finish the words." That's just plain stupid. There's a difference between harmless internet acronyms (w/e, h/o, ppl, lol, and brb come to mind) and aimlessly adding letters on to things just because you feel like it.

Getting back to the original topic... it depends on what you mean by "youth" though... I'm 16 and I've heard from many people that not only am I mature for my age, but a damn good DDR player too (not always from the same people though). When you say "youth" to me I'm thinking my little brother's age, 12-ish, middle-school kids who in the very annoying period when they know what the big kids know and strart doing what the big kids do but aren't mature enough to handle it.

For example, DDR. They see that it's popular with older (relative to them, anyway) people, and when they find themselves dancing at the arcades surrounded by high schoolers and college kids, they're gonna act a little stupid to try to "be cool like the big kids." It's just part of that age group... and there are exceptions to every rule; There are middle school kids who are more mature than half of the high school kids I know, and there are middle school kids who don't act any different when around older kids (for whatever reason). That being said, an exception means that they are the FEW who don't fall in line with the rule or group. I think it's just the age... they can't help the fact that they're in a really awkward age, but they can help making it obvious to the entire world.

Thanks for not totally stereotyping

Back in my day we didnt have speed mods, kids now days usig 3x on my summer love and thinking theyre comptive players. IMO everyone should have started back in the days of 3rd and 4th mix, not just the machines but the attitude as well. Simply playing "trick" was widly accepted and appericated, only the elite played "Maniac" and only their best were passing Afronova and Rebirth. The truly respected players then were freestylers (still should be). Now PA is the important thing no one wants style anymore. Style is what kept DDR alive now you PAers have gone and killed it. THATS IT, 8TH MIX NO MORE! why... E2.gif
