Can we start a RO Metal pad section and a Colbat Flux metal pad thread, it would help a ton.

My reasons:

To many things go on at once in the metal pad disscussion, and every time someone has a very important question that is being ignored an dhas to post it, you lock it.

Edit (Cutriss) - In theory, *anything* you post here is for "mods", so that topic is kinda useless.

Maybe it's about time to have an entire forum devoted to DDR pads?

yeah, I second (third?) this idea. there are people who are posting in simulation from time to time that are talking about what kind of pad to buy, and while this is relevant to adapter compatibility, it tends to spread information out all over the place. I've seen people talking about SM in the console games forum because they wanted to know which pads are good for SM or what USB adapter they should buy. The way I see it, the current console games stickies could be moved into this new forum and modified/split/expanded upon to include compatibility issues with both computer based DDR (wether it be DWI, SM, or DDRUSA PC) and console DDR (PS/2, and XBoX).

hopefully this proposal won't fall on deaf ears...I really believe it will be useful and it'll cut down on random "what pad should I get" threads that show up in chit-chat/gameplay/sims/wherever.

Yet to be decided. Personally, I am for the idea.

yeah, I'd say adapters should stay in the simulation forum. I think it would get lost in all the other information if it were in hardware. and really adapters are more of a simulation specific hardware device. you won't use a USB adapter for anything other than a simulator as far as bemani is concerned (stepmania or otherwise).

PSX -> USB adapters stay in thge Simulators forum, because DDR Console games doesn't use USB.
X-Box <-> PSX adapters go in Consoles.

But this isn't DDR Console anymore. This is Hardware, and regardless of port type it's still hardware.

Errrr, yeah, what Cutriss said E10.gif.

And, well, Phrek has a point. It is Bemani hardware.

Actually, you happen to catch upon another point. A simulator is not defined as Bemani. It just simulates one. But, there is official DDR for the PC I believe yes? So it would count.

ok, sorry to bump, but are we coming any closer to a decision on where the adapter sticky is going? I'm really not trying to sound impatient, but apparently all sorts of threads are popping up in consoles, hardware, and simulators because people are getting confused as to where they should go to get their question answered.

you can read my thoughts on it here if you were wanting my input:

http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=94923

and as you can see I've been trying to keep the adapter questions over in the existing sticky rather than posting in that thread because it's more useful to have the information centralized.
