1 - yes
2 - depends on the chip most of them have an on/off switch or auto live detection
3 - i dont know much about the spider chip except that its the newes chip available, i have a smartxx chip and it works fine and has auto lve dtect. although i havent tried it yet ppl have sed it worx

This is sort of a half-truth.
You don't necessarily need a modchip. However, for most people, you'll want one, or you'll want to flash your TSOP. I think I'd drive myself batty if I had to run the 007 exploit every single time I wanted to do something in EvoX...

cutriss, cutriss, cutriss... (yay, i mastered your nickname!)
i use a special exploit to boot my xbox without game, to load a bios override proggy. i then use this modified bios to do whatever pleases me. boot xbmc, stepX, whatever. :-D

What do you mean? Could you put this in eaisier terms? I dont know much about it, but would like to try it if it dosent mess up my xbox and i wont need a modchip.
