I'm rather confused by the wording in your post, so here goes:
1. "for administrators only"? Moderators lock too. I don't understand the point of saying "for administrators only".
2. Who are you wanting to report? The person who posted the thread, or the person who locked it? If it's the person who posted it - that's what the moderators are for, and they've already taken care of it. If it's the person who locked it, then take it up directly with the person who locked it.
There's always someone who complains about their thread being locked or whatnot - don't take it personally. Locking is done to assure that conversations don't get spread out among a bunch of different threads when there's already people talking about it somewhere else, or to prevent discussion on a topic that is not allowed.
I half-expected this to be yet another complaint thread about me, but I see you've never entered my dominion, so I doubt that. _________________

You feel sorry for people on the internet who get pushed around, even know they arn't?
First thread was due to stupidity, the thread title and the actuall post had nothing to do with eachother. "OMG POOPIEZ" is a bad message.
Seccond one was an accomplishment *not* in the gameplay forum. They are trying to clean up.
Third one was postwhoring.
Fourth one was pointless, and could have been put in the DDR EXTREME thread anyway.
Fifth one, thread allready existed.
Sixth one, the question was answered, and it could have turned into a flamewar.
No im not an admin, sorry.
(The admins pick the mods anyway, they watch over them). _________________

Anyway, you should read the post there by eyebrowsoffire. He knows what's going on. badger wrote: | http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=98589 | Wow, he got a lot of 7's. That's nice. I think all the people in the world that ever would have cared posted in that thread. badger wrote: | http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=96509 | What, did you really need that thread to tell you that playing one of the hardest songs in the game barefoot is a bad idea?
badger wrote: | http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=95459 | Do we need a thread for every girl in the world for those that think she's hot?
badger wrote: | http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=91899 | Like P-Chan said, it's really just a list of your favorite songs, hence it should have just been a continuation of that thread. This ain't LiveJournal - I don't want to see 500 different vaguely DDR-related meme threads because someone thought of a new and remotely creative way to select a small subset of all the songs in DDR.
badger wrote: | http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=91954 | It really didn't take long to reach the end of the discussion in that thread. It was a poorly-thought-out question to begin with (Konami just randomly using Nintendo's music without permission?), and it was answered fairly swiftly. badger wrote: | im sorry if im wrong... i just feel bad for these people who get pushed around by the mods | I'm sure they will one day make a recovery and be able to move past this tragic ordeal.

yeah a thread may be pointless..... but thats a matter of opinion... some people find things pointless, and some people find them to be interesting. things shouldnt be locked because its pointless in ones opinion
notice how the title of the forums is ddr related FUN. we cant have much fun if everything is being locked by people who find things to be pointless -.- _________________

DDR Chit Chat forum information wrote: | Random DDR related stuff, introductions, discussion, etc. Anything that doesn't belong in the other DDR-related forums goes here! | Honestly I find the people that post stupid, pointless and postwhoring threads to be more of an annoyance than "fun".
The moderators and admins know very well what is and isn't acceptable on each of the boards and in most cases shouldn't be questioned on what they do. _________________

Yes, and because we're the mods and admins, our opinion counts more.

When you start paying the bills for this site, or are asked to work for it by someone who does, then you can start saying whether or not it should be locked.

I did a search for the word "fun" on the main index page. Nothing found. Sorry, no fun allowed here. That last part was sarcasm.
And there's plenty of stuff to talk about and have "fun." But making an entire topic about a hot girl and having nothing but "OMG she's hot" isn't fun. It's postwhoring. The level of fun you have will be superficial and small. But if you talk about something that's actual worthwhile you will have fun on a much deeper level. Reach DDR nirvana or something maybe. _________________

It doesn't mean we'll listen
But that's how advertising works (sometimes unfortunately). If a company who advertises in the New York Times doesn't want a certain story to run because they feel it may do damage to their business, then they may threaten to pull their advertising money. So the New York Times either chooses to keep journalist integrity...or potentially go under. _________________

If your idea of fun is using the Internet to shoot people in the head, thereby lowering their intelligence, then no, you're not allowed to have fun. _________________

With that said, I feel it prudent to lock this thread.
For what it's worth, I stand by every lock brought up previously.
Having fun is one thing. Having fun at the expense of utter stupidity is not.
If you have a problem with an individual lock, bring it up with the moderator who locked it. We're all human here, and we'll listen if you give a good reason a locked thread should be unlocked. I've unlocked threads in the past that I had locked when people gave me good reasons they should be unlocked.
Can you honestly give a good reason that those afformentioned threads should be allowed to live? I didn't think so. |
