We have recently reviewed Pump It Up Exceed for PS2. We find that it's a good game with a good value, especially for a first run.

I agree with your review, but you should have mentioned the fact that the pad is not....advanced enough to disregard certain steps. Example: Step pattern is Up-Left Twice, and you hit Up-Right between those two, the pad then marks the second Up-Left as a Boo/Miss.

That sucks.

lol, edit: I wrote DDR directions instead of Pump.

I posted a review for PIU Exceed the same day it was released! 3 months later and someone else's review is posted on the front page? Shenannigans!

PIU Exceed was pretty well done. Hell, I actually can pass some 15s on the official pad. And it STILL works. My only gripes were that some of the old songs didn't get any new charts (Forever Love, Chicken Wing, and Radezky Can Can. However, Forever Love is getting new charts in Zero AC), Interface is a direct port and thus you don't see clear statuses and best scores on song select, weird unlock system (although it isn't like Wish to the Stars in popnmusic 10 CS), Flower Card arrow mod is horrible, and some key music missing (though that's more of a me thing). I have done an independant review and gave it a 4.5 out of 5, but it will become public once I finish my reviews of IIDX 9th Style, ITG, popn11 (done), DDR EX2, and IIDX 10th style. Not doing GH yet as I don't have a copy (due to monetary reasons).

Oh, I should note that it is the only US music game that has come close to becoming a DVD9 game that I know of (4.2ish gigs). Kinda granted with the amount of stuff on it. I bet you if there is an Exceed 2 CS then there is that chance (especially if Andamiro follows everyone's expectations and have over 100 songs again).

Well, you'll be glad to know Andamiro are finally correcting one long-running complaint with the series: Zero's integrating a Easy Station strictly for beginners.

I don't know if it'll help the game attract more new players, but it's hopefully a good start.
(Who knows if it'll carry over to future console versions, though, assuming we get them.)
Anyway, cool review, and definetly one of the more informed ones I've read.

MadCatz has mysteriously pulled the extra pads off their website, which was the ONLY place to get them.

I really dont see why you people complain about the modifiers and having the step codes for them. This isnt ITG or DDR with a kajillion modifiers and the ones it does have can be easily memorized if your serious about playing pump IMO. There prob wont be another home version vecause apparently they didnt sell enough units...so I wouldnt count on it. Oh and about the guy wanting new stepcharts for the songs...they dont make new stepcharts for every old song... Oh and Zero has the another step difficulty to keep you busy. mymybox.com has official soft pads you can buy for $39.99. However mymybox is making a metal pad they said would be out by the end of this month. They said the quality would be around the same as the TX2000 DDR metal pad. So I dunno if were gunna need to mod it so the panels wont crack like it. Its supposed to have bar but either way id suggest buying a bar support. Hope that helps.

Well I'm comparing stupidly long codes that came from Technomotion to Pump it Ups interface... I don't like the fact that AM stuck to F2s Technomotion interface for so long... and I really hate TMs long buttocks codes... they annoy. (Thats what current PIU games are using)
