And I understand that, but I still have the right to give my opinion. And it's not like I don't have a clue what I'm talking about at all.

a "funner" and "more inviting" interface.
having songs be a little more fun to play
more variety in the songlist
decent BG videos(seriousely those videos SUCK!!)
more "recognizable" songs(i.e, more bambee!)
more space katz, e-rotic, and crispy(im talking to you ITG2!!)
some sorta house band.

ITG was great. ITG2 didn't have much "new" stuff and felt too simular to ITG but i liked there whole "lets make DDR players happy by putting bambee in" approach. But it was too much "more happy hardcore" and "more techno."

you can throw your half-empty beer glasses at me now.

I agree with everyone else that Summer should definitely be a 13.

I would really, really, really like to see more SpaceKats songs. Musically, Land of the Rising Sun and Mellow were among my favorite songs on ITG1. A little more work could be put into making Singles Expert steps for them, as well.

One thing that I think would be neat is allowing "proportional" mods during regular play. For instance, being able to choose 50% Hidden or -100% Mini during regular play instead of just on Marathons.

And this one is just for me, I admit: .5x speed. We know that SM builds work on the cabinets, so this should be no trouble for the CPU to handle. I just love low-speed mods. laugh.gif

More songs of different styles by familiar artists would be nice, such as All Those Tears by Nina (yes, Nina DOES make rock music) and some song by Smiley with pop vocals.

That's exactly what ruined Out of the Dark for me. And anyway, the focus on Kyle Ward songs should be all about how well he can produce music, not how good of a voice some random vocalist he knows has.

So are you saying that Kyle Ward can never write a song with a vocalist? What if he wants to because the song calls for it?

That's kind of restrictive. I don't need a Paula Terry singing everyone of his songs, but one or two shouldn't be a problem.

I don't know what songs you're playing, but I find the 9-10 range rather fun to both play and score.

One of the things many people like about ITG is that it doesn't place high emphasis on things that don't really matter. Because the interface works, I'm not going to lose sleep if it doesn't look as pretty as IIDX 12th. And as long as the background vids continue to NOT blend with the arrows and NOT be overtly distracting, I believe they're doing a fine job.

The song will probably turn out to be extremely cheesy because Kyle presumably has no real experience with writing lyrics, not to mention even Naoki's music is garbage with cheesy vocalists like Paula Terry around. Oh, and having a vocalist will likely mean much more simplistic music, thus resulting in easier stepcharts. In The Groove is about a good challenge, and simple music won't attract a very large portion of most E1.gif fans.

That's because I feed off logic associated with hitting arrows, slowly becoming a centralized entity of the Internet. Or I just click "Reply" before you do. Something like that.

ITG3 will have a green/yellow interface as with DDR Extreme. Hope this fulfills your request.

You know, I'm not here to get flamed. If you don't like my opinion, or don't think it's informed enough for you, don't respond to it. Better yet, refute it intelligently instead of childishly editing my posts as tools to use against me. Honestly, people around here just need to grow up.

On-topic, though, another thing that I'd love to see is some sort of official internet ranking. Groovestats is great and all, we all love it. But it would be nice to see something officially supported by Roxor. Best would be an internet hookup for the machine, of course, but I'd be happy if we could just upload stats.xml files to their servers.

If you don't want your opinion to be scrutinized, you shouldn't post anything in the first place.

Then why aren't you being made to look bad? Everyone here has the right to share their opinions without being kicked in the dust.

No they don't. There is nothing anywhere here that says that I cannot call your opinion stupid, especially if some opinion has no factual basis.

The way people have been mocking a completely respectable poster is at the point where it's unacceptable. It should be easy to tell he's rather unhappy about this. If you don't agree with someone, just say why you don't agree, but please don't tease him when he's taking it seriously and don't make such a big deal out of a mere opinion. Not that it's illegal to do so, but I personally think it's rather mean and unnecessary to other members of the community.

-More Hybrid.
-More Machinae.
-No 14. For fuck's sake, there's only 3 13's and one is rumored to become a 12. The high score on one is only 94.xx and it's more than likely bugged anyway. Fill out the 13's please.
-Less Kyle Ward music.
-More GOOD liscenses, less filler (i'm looking in your direction Extreme Music)... more than half of ITG's music is filler and unremarkable. Roxor in-house lacks the Professional quality of Konami's, so they should rely on strong liscenses for professional music.
-More music styles (like some good hip-hop, no Frontalot please)
-Don't listen to Infinty regarding Habanera 1. The double ex. chart is too sweet to go.
-Let some others besides Foy write the 10+ difficulty charts. I wanna see lots more Ryan and Matt 10+ charts.

I want it to be scrutinized. But I'd prefer that it happens in an intelligent manner. It seems that people around here prefer to go "you're dumb" than to actually explain why. If you what to discuss the content of my post, feel free. But don't just ignore it because I'm not elite enough for you.

And it's not "zero factual basis". It may not be based on experience so much (or at all, beyond Stepmania - and yes, I completely understand that it's not the same thing at all), but it's more of my personal amalgamation of the opinions I see expressed elsewhere on the difficulty of songs, combined with some looking around at Groovestats and such. It just seems to me that it would be a better solution that the constant bickering over "Summer doesn't belong in the same category as Vertex (as a 12) or Vertex^2 (as a 13)" and similar. It seems that there are several songs out there that people consider to be either "hard 12s" or "easy 13s", so why not bring those "12.5" songs together into their own category?

I'm not going to respond to any more posts complaining about my right to post my opinions or simply stating that I'm an idiot. Feel free to post those things - I can't stop you. But there's no reason for this thread hijack to continue. If you want to discuss the suggestions I've laid out, go right ahead. I'll be happy to reply. E1.gif
