How long can you go without playing ITG?

I just had surgery a week and a bit ago and haven't been able to play, nor can I play for another 3 weeks. It's killing me.

I could never be able to play it again, and I'd still turn out fine. Of course, I enjoy playing it every two weeks now, ever since I started up again recently.

So, by playing ITG on 9 and 10 footers, you can damage your knees so badly that you can't play? That kinda scares me...
