We had something called "SSR member." We ended up with a ton of people who kissed our buttocks, and a ton of people who hated the people who kissed our buttocks, a ton of people who were called SSR members buttocks-kissers, and a small group of cool people called "SSR members." _________________

Most forum administrators picked moderators the same way they get nominated around here: do they know the rules, appear generally helpful, act cordially, and have a brain in their head? The "good" members tend to move up in the ranks on the internet just like "good" people tend to move up in society. And it goes without saying that any forum with dork moderators is unlikely to reach any significant size. |
I know of some forums that don´t agree with what you say... and they are greatly annoying!!
if it weren´t for the people posting there, I woudn´t go there... but it is like going somewhere where you might be beaten just because you were in the wrong place in the wrong time >_<
anyways... I love a place where mods and admins addmit they might make mistakes and are open to fix ´em _________________

I remember having to post who we warned in a forum and how we warned them, whether publicly or privately. And then we had to keep track somehow.
Now THAT was a pain. _________________

I remember that too for a little bit.
"Spike got warned for being a tool. This is his first warning."
Then later:
"Spike got warned for spamming goatsce. This is his first warning."
"Wait, I thought it was his second?"
"Was it? Let me go back and look through 40 pages"
"Let's just ban him." _________________

Yeah I know about the SSR members. I was thinking about what they do at DDR UK. You are familiar with the CP system. (Contribution Points) they allow members to access downloads and new banners. Points are given by moderators and admins when members are helpful. _________________
