I'm building my first pad (riptide's design) and I was wondering, do I need to have more than 4 arrows for anything?
What are the X/O buttons used for? Is that just for navigation on the Ps2, or are there some games/songs/versions that require more than the 4 directional arrows? |

I personally would go for having the buttons on a control box, not on/in the main gamepad. _________________

Agreed strongly. And I doubt you'll want the six arrows, really. Almost every mix is 4. |

In Konamix for the PS, along with Game Mode, there is Solo Mode, where the game acts more like a DDR Solo machine. Naturally, you get to choose between 4 and 6 panel. Six panel uses X and O as additional panels. It's fun, I'd recommend it. _________________

You could get 2 polished steel plates of thickness equal to the recession of your arrows and just put those over your X and O buttons for 4 panel if you don't want to obstruct the arcade feel of your pad for 4-panel, but want to also be able to use it for solo. _________________
