What I meant was if you could see that someone was ignoring you, and you were some annoying little kid, finding out that 3k people ignoring you would probably drive you from the site. I know that many people would say to that "Good, mission accomplished" but we try to remain open and friendly to all people (at least at first...if you break the rules then good bye

).

I think it would be good to have the feature, but not to make a big deal about it. I personally would start warning people for making some post saying "Well great, I'm putting you on my ignore list now, so no need to hear your incessant stupidity any more." It's pretty much flamebait and anyone who read that would probably just make a ton of posts whining about it. If you're going to ignore them then saying something to them defeats the point.

I could also forsee an Ignore feature making the boards just as slow as the "Who's viewing this page?" feature.

I don't see why the feature's needed at all. I can't imagine any situation in which I would want to ignore anyone.

well, I say let people ignore mods and admins. They'll rack up 9 points pretty quick that way.... It's like natural selection

I would say that it could be pretty good if we could just ignore people via PM so you wouldn't get private flames. A good example being the whole SSR Member deal. But it would probably be easier to just report it to a moderator/administrator. Not to mention a whole new breed of Flame:The "I'm Going To Ignore You Now" Flame.
